  • Red Dress Ball with the Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra
    Saturday, February 11th

    Glen Echo Park's Spanish Ballroom
    Lesson:  8:00 - 9:00 pm
    Dancing:  9:00 pm - 12:00 Midnight

Whether you're in love or just love to dance, this is one Valentines-weekend event you don't want to miss! We'll kick off the evening with a beginning swing lesson from 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm, and then the Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra (complete with a swoon-worthy male crooner) will take the stage for your dancing pleasure until midnight. So don your favorite red threads, grab your dancing shoes, pick up your sweetie or round up your friends, and spend a memorable Valentine's Day dancing the night away!

The Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra is a classic 14-piece Big Band that really knows how to swing!! They feature the original big band arrangements of Count Basie, Billy May, and Nelson Riddle, among others.  The Washington Post says the EFJO:

sets a standard not easily matched: in its performance of music from the great bands of the Big Band era -- Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton and more....Catch this swinging band in all its deserved glory!

It's no wonder that PBS selected the EFJO to provide the soundtrack for their show The Big Band Sound of WWII.

Cost is only $15/person or volunteer for an hour to get in free.  (Email us to get on the volunteer schedule.)
